Fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 25-year-old man was killed in Pat Heung this morning (April 5).

At about 7.20 am, a private car driven by a 25-year-old man was traveling along Kim Tin Road towards Tai Po. Upon reaching near Pang Ka Tsuen, it reportedly crashed into a light goods vehicle (LGV) emerging from a petrol station on Kam Tin Road.

Sustaining injuries, the private car driver was rushed to the North District Hospital where he was certified dead at 8.02 am. Meanwhile, a 36-year-old male LGV passenger who felt unwell after the accident was also sent the North District Hospital for treatment.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
