Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po
Police today (April 4) appealed to the public to provide information on a traffic accident in which an 80-year-old man was injured in Sham Shui Po on March 22 and was certified dead on the next day (March 23).
At about 2.25 pm on March 22, a male cyclist was reportedly travelling down the slope at eastbound Tai Hang Sai Street. When reaching the junction with Tai Hang Tung Road, the bicycle knocked down an 80-year-old man who was crossing the road. The cyclist did not make any report to the Police after the accident and fled away.
Sustaining injuries, the man was sent to the Caritas Medical Centre and later transferred to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment. He was certified dead at 11.25 pm on March 23.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
