Yuen Long Traffic accident claims cyclist's life

A 29-year-old cyclist died after his bicycle reportedly collided with a public light bus in Yuen Long at around 12.20 pm this (April 2) afternoon.

The public light bus, driven by a 48-year-old man was travelling along Long Ping Road towards Tin Shui Wai direction. When it reached the junction of Fung Chi Road, it reportedly collided with the 29-year-old male cyclist who was cycling along the northbound of Fung Chi Road.

The cyclist sustained head injuries and was certified dead at scene.

The 48-year-old public light bus driver was later arrested for dangerous driving causing death.

The New Territories North Traffic Special Investigation Team is following up the case. Anyonewho had saw the accident is urged to contact the investigating officer at 2675 3325.
