Traffic arrangements for charity walk

Police will implement special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island to facilitate a chairty walk to be held on Sunday (February 25).

The charity walk will start at Hong Kong Stadium at about 9.30 am and finish at Aberdeen Country Park Visitors Centre.

Special traffic arrangements to be implemented are as follows:

Road closure
------------

(1) Stadium Path will be closed at 8 am.

(2) A section of uphill Link Road between Caroline Hill Road and Broadwood Road will be closed at 8 am. The downhill section will be closed when necessary.

(3) The uphill inner lane of Wong Nai Chung Gap Road outside Hong Kong Tennis Centre will be closed at 8 am.

(4) A section of downhill Broadwood Road between Link Road and Tai Hang Road will be closed at 8.30 am.

(5) A section of westbound Tai Hang Road between Broadwood Road and Blue Pool Road will be closed at 8.30 am. The section of Tai Hang Road between Upper Blue Pool Road and Blue Pool Road will be opened for resident vehicles only.

(6) A section of Caroline Hill Road between Link Road and Eastern Hospital Road will be closed at 9 am.

Traffic Diversion
-----------------

(1) The western section of Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Eastern Hospital Road will be re-routed one-way southbound at 7.30 am.

(2) The eastern section of Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Cotton Path will be routed one-way northbound at 8 am.

(3) A section of Eastern Hospital Road between Caroline Hill Road and Cotton Path will be routed one-way northbound from 8 am. However, vehicular access to St. Paul's Hospital carpark from Tung Lo Wan Road will be maintained.

(4) A section of Link Road from Broadwood Road to Caroline Hill Road will be maintained one-way downhill at 8.30 am. Traffic along downhill Link Road may be prohibited to turn right at Link Road junctions with Caroline Hill Road and Caroline Hill Road junctions with Leighton Road.

(5) A section of Broadwood Road between Link Road and Tai Hang Road will be maintained one-way southbound at 8.30 am.

(6) Vehicles on westbound Tai Hang Road will be diverted into Perkins Road or U-turn into eastbound Tai Hang Road at 8.30 am. Eastbound Tai Hang Road will be diverted into Blue Pool Road at the junction of Tai Hang Road and Blue Pool Road at 8.30 am, except for residents living in the vicinity of Mary Mount School and Tai Hang Road.

(7) A section of Mount Butler Road between Mount Butler Drive and Price Road will be re-routed one-way southbound at 8.30 am.

(8) Access to Coombe Road from Magazine Gap Road will be restricted to residents only at 8.30 am.

(9) No catering vehicles will be allowed to enter the Wan Chai Gap area after 10.30 am.

Suspension of parking spaces

All on-street parking spaces on the following roads will be suspended between 6 am and 2 pm:

(1) Stadium Path;
(2) Caroline Hill Road between Stadium Path and Cotton Path;
(3) Eastern Hospital Road Service Road; and
(4) Hoi Ping Road.

Prohibition to learner drivers
------------------------------

The following roads will be prohibited to all learner drivers between 7 am and 3 pm:

(1) Tai Hang Road;
(2) Leighton Road;
(3) Sharp Street East;
(4) Percival Street south of Hennessy Road;
(5) Caroline Hill Road;
(6) Link Road;
(7) Stadium Path;
(8) Cotton Path;
(9) Eastern Hospital Road;
(10) Eastern Hospital Road Service Road;
(11) Broadwood Road;
(12) Wong Nai Chung Gap Road southbound;
(13) Stubbs Road Flyover southbound;
(14) Aberdeen Reservoir Road; and
(15) Yue Kwong Road.

Motorists are advised to take heed of traffic signs and follow instructions of Traffic Police at the scene.
