Murder in Sham Shui Po
Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a murder case in which a 36-year-old man was found dead in Sham Shui Po this afternoon (January 12).
The case came to light when a 36-year-old female estate agent made a report to the Police that she found a man lying unconscious inside a room at No. 23 Shek Kip Mei Street, Sham Shui Po.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 36-year-old man lying unconscious on the floor of the room. A burning charcoal stove was found in the toilet. The man was certified dead at scene.
Initial investigations revealed that the deceased is a patient of Kwai Chung Hospital. The deceased rented the above unit together with a 24-year-old man on Thursday (January 11).
Police later located the 24-year-old man, who was also a patient of Kwai Chung Hospital, and arrested him for murder.
A post mortem will be conducted tomorrow (January 13) to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Enquiries by the District Crime Squad, Sham Shui Po, are continuing.
