Murder and attempted suicide in Sai Kung
Police are investigating a murder and attempted suicide case in which a 46-year-old woman died in Sai Kung last night (December 27).
At about 7 pm, Police received a report that a woman was found hanging on a tree behind a wooden hut in Shui Hau Village.
Police sped to the scene and located a woman who was lying unconscious on the ground. She was later certified dead by the ambulancemen.
Initial enquiries revealed that the deceased and her 51-year-old husband attempted to commit suicide by taking pills and drinking alcohol in the hut earlier last night. The deceased later hanged herself on a tree behind her hut in Shui Hau Village.
The husband later found the deceased hanging on the tree and released her at once. He called their 25-year-old daughter for assistance and the daughter made a report to Police.
Police later arrested the 51-year-old husband for supsected murder and he was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for medical treatment.
A post mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
Investigations by District Crime Squad of Wong Tai Sin are proceeding.
