JPC leadership and management training project launched

The "Junior Police Call (JPC) Leadership and Management Training Project", organised by the Police and sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK), was launched today (November 23).

Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Lee Ming-kwai, said: " The project trains JPC members in leadership, management skills and personal development. It is aimed at helping them to develop their potential and equip them to contribute to the prosperity and stability of the society with the Police."

Mr Lee also said that the aim of the project was in line with JPC's objectives to help young people to develop a sense of justice, instil positive values in them and prepare them to become future leaders.

Addressing the audience at the ceremony, Mr He Guangbei, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of BOCHK, said: "Talents are the cornerstone of social and economic development. While undertaking the obligation of maintaining social order and ensuring the safety of citizens, the Hong Kong Police Force is dedicated to nurturing the new generation by encouraging them to lead a positive life. This is indeed an act of vision."

"We are pleased to be involved in this training project because both BOCHK and the Police share a common mission of 'nurturing the talents'. We are therefore eager to contribute our small part to this. I hope that with this comprehensive and systematic training programme, our younger generations will be able to become future excellent leaders and management."

The project will provide 161 classes for more than 6,400 participants in the coming two years, covering diverse areas from problem solving, communication skills, presentation skills, self management to financial management.

Apart from the training project, the JPC has arranged courses on police knowledge and personal development for its members since September.
