Traffic arrangements for Flag Raising Ceremony on National Day
Police will implement special traffic arrangements in the vicinity of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II (HKCEC II) for the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony on October 1.
The Flag Raising Ceremony will be held at the HKCEC Phase II at 8 am.
The special traffic arrangements to regulate traffic and maintain a smooth traffic flow throughout the ceremony are as follows:
A. Road closure:
Expo Drive, Expo Drive Central and East will be closed to all vehicular traffic except authorised vehicles from 6.30 am to 11 am.
A section of Expo Drive adjacent to Expo Galleria will be closed from 6.30 am to 8.30 am to facilitate the Flag Raising Ceremony.
B. Direction of traffic
All vehicles are required to enter HKCEC II via the West Bridge and leave via the East Bridge. No entry will be allowed through the East Bridge.
C. Suspension of bus terminus, taxi stand and parking spaces:
The bus terminus, taxi stand and public bus parking spaces on Expo Drive East will be suspended from 12.01 am to 11 am.
The private bus pick-up/drop-off area adjacent to Wan Chai Ferry Pier Bus Terminus will be suspended from 6.30 am to 9.30 am.
The coach metered parking spaces on Expo Drive East will be suspended from 10 pm on September 30 to 11 am on October 1.
Meanwhile, to facilitate the rehearsal of the flag-raising ceremony tomorrow (September 30), a section of Expo Drive East by north of Expo Drive will be closed between 7 am and 1 pm. During the period of road closure, traffic on Expo Drive will be maintained but will intermittently be held up.
The bus terminus, taxi stand and coach metered parking spaces on Expo Drive East will be suspended for the same period.
