Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui

Police today (September 22) appealed to members of the public for information on a traffic accident in which a 79-year-old man died in Sheung Shui today.

At about 7:45am today, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 32-year-old man was travelling along Luen On Street southbound. When it reached the junction with Sha Tau Kok Road, it reportedly hit a 79-year-old man who was crossing the road.

After the impact, the man sustained serious injuries on his head and hands and was sent to North District Hospital where he was certified dead at 8.17am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
