Fatal traffic accident in Central
Police are investigating a traffic accident in Central in which a 36-year-old man and his 11-month-old daughter were killed this (September 1) morning.
At about 8.50 am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 26-year-old man was reversing at Po Hing Fong and it reportedly knocked down the 36-year-old man who was holding his 11-month-old daughter in hands and crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the baby girl was certified dead at scene by ambulancemen while his father was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where he was certified dead at 9.52 am.
The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is still being detained for enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is proceeding.
