Update on open fire case in Tsim Sha Tsui

Officers of Organised Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) are investigating the open fire case which occurred early this (July 10) morning in Tsim Sha Tsui.

At about 5 am, three men, aged 35 - 40, were leaving a club and were ambushed by two culprits at the junction of Austin Avenue and Kimberley Road.

One of the culprits fired four shots with a shot gun. The three men were injured and were later sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Kwong Wah Hospital respectively for medical treatment.

Another culprit was believed to be armed with a pistol-like-object (PLO) and there is no evidence indicating that any shots were fired from the PLO.

The missing vehicle, which was found on fire at Yau Ma Hom Road in Tsuen Wan at about 5.20 am today, is suspected to be connected with the open fire case.

Initial enquiries indicated that the motive of attack was related to personal disputes that occurred at a disco in Kowloon last month.

Investigations by OCTB are proceeding.
