Appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Western District

Police today (June 23) urged members of the public to provide information on a fatal traffic accident that occurred in Western District on June 21.

At 2.45 pm, a bus driven by a 62-year-old man was travelling along northbound Queen's Road West. When it turned left into westbound carriageway of Belcher's Street, it reportedly knocked down a 69-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was sent to Queen Mary Hospital and was certified dead at 9.52 pm.

Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.

Police urge anyone who has witnessed the accident or has information to offer to contact the investigating officers at 3106 8800.
