Special traffic arrangements in Wan Chai

Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Wan Chai on June 18 (Sunday) to facilitate the holding of Olympic Day Run 2006.

The following road closure and traffic diversions will be implemented between 8.30 am and 11 am:

(A) Road closure
1. A section of eastbound Lung Wui Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Fenwick Pier Street;
2. Fenwick Pier Street;
3. Lung King Street;
4. A section of eastbound Convention Avenue between Fenwick Pier Street and Expo Drive East;
5. A section of Convention Avenue between Fleming Road and Tonnochy Road;
6. A section of Hung Hing Road between Tonnochy Road and Marsh Road;
7. A section of northbound Expo Drive between Convention Avenue and Expo Drive East;
8. Expo Drive East north of Expo Drive (next to the Golden Bauhinia Square);
9. A section of southbound Expo Drive East between Expo Drive and Convention Avenue;
10. A section of eastbound Harbour Road between Fleming Road and Tonnochy Road;
11. A section of Tonnochy Road between Harbour Road and Convention Avenue.


(B) Road diversions
1. Northbound traffic on Tim Wa Avenue will be diverted to westbound Lung Wui Road;
2. Traffic along eastbound Harcourt Road to Tim Mei Avenue will be banned, except to Tamar Site car park or Citic Tower car park;
3. Traffic along northbound Tim Mei Avenue must turn left onto westbound Lung Wui Road;
4. Traffic along northbound Fleming Road will be prohibited to turn right onto eastbound Convention Avenue;
5. Traffic along southbound Fleming Road will be prohibited to turn left onto eastbound Harbour Road except heading for Eagle and Harbour Centre Carpark and Wanchai Indoor Game Halls;
6. Traffic along eastbound Expo Drive Central must turn left onto northbound Expo Drive East;
7. Traffic along eastbound Harbour Road near the junction of Fleming Road must turn left onto northbound Fleming Road;
8.Traffic along southbound Expo Drive must turn right onto westbound Fenwick Pier Street;
9. Traffic along eastbound Expo Drive must U-turn to westbound Expo Drive at the junction with Expo Drive East;
10. Traffic along Tonnochy Road Flyover must turn left onto westbound Harbour Road;
11. Traffic along westbound Hung Hing Road must turn left onto southbound Marsh Road;
12. Northbound traffic on Marsh Road will be diverted to eastbound Hung Hing Road; and
13. Traffic along northbound Harbour Drive must turn left onto westbound Harbour Road.

In addition to road closures and diversions, the following bus stops, taxi stands and parking spaces will also be suspended on June 18:

(A) Bus stops (between 8 am and 11 am)
1. Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II, Expo Drive East;
2. Eastbound Convention Avenue;
3. Lung Wui Road; and
4. Eastbound Harbour Road.

(B) Public bus/coaches metered parking spaces/parking spaces (between 6 am and 11 am)
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II, Expo Drive East.

(C) Taxi stands (between 8.30 am and 11 am)
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Phase II, Expo Drive East.

(D) Metered carpark and motorcycle parking spaces (between 6 am and 11 am)
