Probe into death of woman in Yuen Long
Police are investigating a case in which a 37-year-old woman died in Yuen Long early this morning (June 9).
At about 2.50 am, a taxi, driven by a 58-year-old man and with a man and a woman passengers on board, reached near Hung Tin Road while it was travelling along Yuen Long Highway towards Tuen Mun.
The woman, sitting on the right in the rear compartment suddenly dropped out from the taxi and was believed to be run over by another vehicle. Suffering injuries to the waist and head, the woman was certified dead at the scene while the man left the scene after the incident.
Police initial enquiries revealed that the taxi driver picked up the duo at Kuk Ting Street in Yuen Long and their destination was Yan Ching Street in Tuen Mun.
After investigations, Police have arrested a 31-year-old man who was suspected to have left the scene and returned afterwards.
The man is now being detained and Police investigations are underway.
