Man arrested for murder in Sha Tin
Police are investigating a murder case in Sha Tin today (June 7) in which a 48-year-old woman was killed while her 70-year-old husband was arrested on suspected connection with the case.
At about 9.20 am, Police received a report that a woman was chopped inside a unit in Luk Chuen House of Lek Yuen Estate.
Police officers were immediately deployed to the scene and found the 48-year-old woman, with cut wounds on her neck, lying unconscious inside the unit while her 70-year-old husband was also located there. A cutter was seized at the scene.
Police initial enquiries suspected that the couple has a dispute before the incident which alerted their neighbour who subsequently reported the case to the Police.
The woman was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at 9.47 am. A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.
The 70-year-old man, suspected to be in connection with the case, was arrested. Sustaining injuries to his left hand, the man was also taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for medical treatment.
The case has been taken over by the District Crime Squad of Sha Tin for investigations.
