Man arrested for suspected murder
Police arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with a suspected theft and murder in which the body of a 28-year-old woman was found in Tai Mo Shan Country Park, Tsuen Wan last (April 23) evening.
The case was revealed to Police on last Thursday (April 20) when a 31-year-old man reported to Wong Tai Sin Police Station that his wife had been missing since she left her home in Wong Tai Sin at about noon on that day.
Officers from Regional Crime Unit, Kowloon East (RCU/KE) took over the case for investigation and arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with the case in Tsim Sha Tsui on Saturday (April 22) morning.
After further investigation, the body of the missing woman was found hidden inside a nylon bag and dumped in the bushes at the hillside of Tai Mo Shan Country Park at about 8.30 pm last (April 23) night.
A post-mortem will be conducted later today (April 24) to ascertain the cause of death of the woman.
RCU/KE officers are still detaining the 48-year-old man for further investigations.
