Fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which an 81-year-old man was killed in Yuen Long today (March 18).

Shortly after 11.20 am, a taxi driven by a 49-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Wang Tat Road. While making a right turn into an access road leading to a taxi stand next to the KCR West Rail Long Ping Station, it reportedly knocked down the 81-year-old man who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the man was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital where he was certified dead at 12.46 pm.

Investigations will be taken over by Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North.
