Appeal for information on fatal traffic accidents
Police today (March 3) appealed to members of the public for information on two fatal traffic accidents in Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong in February this year.
At about 11 am on February 18, a taxi driven by a 36-year-old man was travelling along the inner lane of Tung Tau Tsuen Road towards Kowloon City. Upon reaching the junction with Ching Tak Street, it reportedly knocked down a 55-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the woman was sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 6.25 pm on February 24.
Meanwhile, at around 3.35 am on February 26, a motorcycle driven by a 29-year-old man was travelling along the inner lane of Kwun Tong Bypass towards Yau Tong. While making a right turn near Lei On Court, it reportedly lost control and rammed an embankment.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the driver was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was certified dead at 2.40 pm on February 27.
Special Investigation Teams of Traffic Kowloon East are investigating the cases.
