$700,000 reward for detection of murder in Wan Chai
Police are offering a reward of $700,000 for the detection of a murder case took place in Wan Chai in October last year.
At about 12.30 pm on October 24 last year, a 40-year-old Thai-born Chinese female tourist was found dead on the top of an air-duct inside the Air-handling Unit (Switch Room) on the 33rd floor of the Revenue Tower at 5 Gloucester Road.
The deceased was 1.56 meters in height and 44 kilograms in weight. At the time her body was discovered, her hands were tied from behind by two pieces of black plastic straps.
The deceased was last seen wearing a short-sleeved white T-shirt, a dark coloured trousers and a pair of sandals and board a hotel's shuttle bus in Yau Ma Tei at about 2 pm on October 12, 2005.
The deceased's handbag containing her passport, a few hundred Hong Kong dollars, two mobile phones, two bank credit cards and a pair of sunglasses were found missing.
The reward of $700,000, being offered jointly by Police and two members of the public, is valid until July 23, 2006. It will be paid either in full or pro-rata to any person or apportioned among persons, as may be determined by the Police, giving information leading to the arrest and satisfactory prosecution of the culprit(s).
