Special traffic arrangements in Lam Tsuen
Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements to facilitate members of the public to visit the "Wishing Tree" in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po during the Lunar New Year from January 29 to February 12.
"As a large number of people are expected to visit the 'Wishing Tree' in Lam Tsuen and there will be no parking space for private cars, we are calling on the public to make use of public transport to access the area so as to minimise the chance of traffic congestion," a Police spokesman said.
The following traffic measures will be implemented from 9 am to 7 pm daily:
Road closure:
- A section of Fong Ma Po Tsuen Access Road from Lam Kam Road to Lam Tsuen Rural Committee Office will be closed.
Restricted zone:
- All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from stopping, picking up/setting down passengers and loading/unloading goods at
(a) the section of Fong Ma Po Tsuen Access Road between Lam Kam Road and Lam Tsuen Rural Committee Office; and
(b) the section of Lam Kam Road (Pat Heung bound) between Hong Lok Yuen Interchange and the entrance to Tong Sheung Tsuen, except franchised buses and green minibuses(GMB).
"Police will take enforcement actions against traffic offenders. Any illegally parked vehicles will be towed away without prior notice," the spokesman said.
Members of the pubic are urged to take heed of instructions of Police at the scene.
