Wounding case in Yuen Long reclassified as murder

Police yesterday (January 4) reclassified a wounding case which occurred in Yuen Long in December 2005 as murder.

At about 9.30 pm on December 26, 2005, Police received a report that a man was attacked inside a park on Sai Ching Street.

Police officers sped to the scene and located the 18-year-old man who sustained injuries to his head and body. He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital and was certified dead at 8.56 pm yesterday.

Initial enquiries revealed that he was attacked by seven other men with punches and kicks and a glass bottle inside the park.

A post-mortem on the deceased will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.

Investigations by District Crime Squad of Yuen Long District are proceeding.
