New Territories North (NTN) Region paid recognition of the professionalism of District Investigation Team (DIT) officers last month when Regional Commander So Kam-sing presented the Best DIT Award.

Two awardees, Senior Detective Inspector Chiu Lung-sing and Detective Sergeant Chik Choi-hung said the keys to the success of DIT were a fair system of "penalty and reward" and maintenance of a pleasant work environment, adding that such approach would boost morale and efficiency.

They pointed out that their work environment and shift duty arrangement had been greatly improved and the management had given frontline crime officers more support and showed them more concern. They hoped more new blood would join the crime stream.
