The competition, organised by the Police Public Relations Branch last December, was aimed at projecting a positive image of the Force as well as encouraging Force members to participate in wholesome activities during their spare time.

During the selection exercise last month, 33 winning photos were chosen amongst 159 entries. The Champion, the first runner-up and the second runner-up were presented with trophies and photographic equipment coupons valued at $5,000, $3,000 and $1,000 respectively. Each of the 11 third runners-up received an award certificate and rolls of colour films.

The photos will be used for the production of Force and other Government publicity materials, exhibitions and other promotional purposes.

Officiating guests at the ceremony included Director of Operations, Mr Tang King-shing, Chief Superintendent (Personnel Services), Mr Jawaid Khan, and Chairman of Photographic Society of JPOA, Mr Wong Cheuk-kim.

The winners are as follows:

Champion: John Holmes

First runner-up: Lo Ka-ming

Second runner-up: Chan Hung-chau

Third runners-up: Tung Mee-king, Lau Ming-chong, Chan Hung-kit, Tse Wai-kit, Chor Hin-kam, Lo Ka-ming, Yeung Wah-hing, Fung Wai-ming, Wong Chi-ho, Yiu Yau-hung and Leung Wai-ki.
