Police support for the Chest
The Force raised more than $97,500 for the Community Chest Employee Contribution Programme through the Force Collection held in January this year.
On behalf of the Force, representatives from the Kowloon East Region and the Police Training School, the two formations which donated the highest amount, presented the cheque to the Chief Executive of the Community Chest, Ms Cecilia Li, at a presentation ceremony held last month.
Meanwhile, Ms Li, in a letter sent to New Territories South Regional Commander, Mr Mike Dowie, on March 20, expressed her gratitude to the Force in providing logistical assistance for the Community Chest New Territories Walk, attended by a record high of 10,000 walkers, earlier that month. She extended special appreciation to Ma On Shan Divisional Commander, Mr Wai Siu-cheong, Assistant Divisional Commander Operations, Mr Lee Hing-ah and Sha Tin District Operations Officer, Ms Elaine Ip Lai-ling, for their valuable advice on and expertise in crowd management.
