A total of 70 representatives from 60 building security companies last month attended a building security seminar organised by Tsim Sha Tsui Division.

The seminar was the second to be organised by the Division following the success of last year's event which was aimed at enhancing communication and establishing a good working partnership to reduce the incidence of burglaries and other crimes.

This year's seminar, held at the Officers' Mess at Yau Tsim Headquarters, was organised by Acting Tsim Sha Tsui Divisional Commander, Mr R T A Dover, assisted by Senior Inspector Kwok Pak-chung and other officers of the Patrol Sub-unit 5.

During the seminar, Woman Detective Inspector Poon Suk-han and Inspector Wong Ka-yam gave talks on crime situation and crime prevention measures of building security respectively.

Also during the event, Yau Tsim District Commander, Mr John Bicknell, presented certificates of appreciation to 40 security companies which were responsible for keeping 74 buildings in the area free from crime last year.
