To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and 180th anniversary of the Force, the Junior Police Call (JPC) Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp (JPC@PH) hosted the PH FEST on October 26 and 27. This upgraded public fun day, which included for the first time a glamping experience and a campfire evening, attracted participation of over 5 500 members of the public.
The eventful activities of PH FEST featured the ziplines, mini obstacle race, laser shooting games and the CODE BUSTERS escape room. In addition, horses were arranged for participants to enjoy the fun of riding and the Environmental Protection Department was invited to bring along its smart robotic dogs and cars to interact with the public.
In the glamping area initiated this year, there was a mural painted by Paint Beautiful Hong Kong to celebrate the 50th anniversary of JPC. Participants could savour Hong Kong-style snacks and beverages while enjoying the song Stand by You sung by three students from the Baron School of Music for PH FEST. The campfire evening commenced with performances of the Police Band, Salvation Army William Booth Secondary School Marching Band and Hong Kong Equator Dragon Drum and Bugle Corps. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and Assistant Commissioner (Public Relations) Chan Sze-tat lit the campfire in the two evenings respectively. The participants and JPC members exchanged actively in the evenings to promote mutual communication and deepen the citizens’ understanding of the JPC@PH, emphasising its vital role in youth education.
