To promote the anti-deception strategy by instilling the concept “Ending deception starts with you” among young people, the Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) launched its Anti-Deception Ambassador Programme this school year in collaboration with 16 primary and secondary schools in the District, with 139 students selected to become Anti-Deception Ambassadors. At the appointment ceremony held on October 5, District Commander of YTDIST Ngai Chi-shung delivered a welcoming speech in which he thanked the schools for their active participation in this programme and working together with the Force to equip students to become guardians against deception. During the event, the flag-raising ceremony was conducted by the flag-raising team of Yaumati Kaifong Association School. The event also featured the premiere of an anti-deception video by YTDIST Junior Police Call and Senior Police Call, an anti-scam magic performance by the Police Magic Club and an energetic cheerleading performance. Each ambassador received a kit containing anti-deception teaching tools prepared by YTDIST, a guide analysing scammers’ tactics and a mission log for the ambassadors to record their anti-scam promotion efforts.

Besides, Police Community Relations Office of YTDIST held two seminars with national security as the theme for approximately 850 teachers and students from the ELCHK Lutheran Secondary School and Lai Chack Middle School on September 27 and October 2 respectively. The seminars covered topics on the definition of national security, holistic approach to national security, study of Safeguarding National Security Ordinance, as well as case sharing and scenario discussion. The seminars utilised the latest teaching material package produced by the National Security Department. During the seminars, the students participated actively and deepened their understanding of the importance of safeguarding national security.
