Operations of New Territories South (NTS) has been pressing ahead with Project L-Homecoming 2.0 since 2021 to collaborate with non-government organisations (NGOs), property management companies and shopping centres for leveraging the use of technology to locate missing persons at risk. Witnessed by officers of NTS, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Urban Group held the agreement signing ceremony for installation of Angel Box, a bluetooth positioning device, on October 3. It officially kicked off the installation of Angel Boxes in City One Shatin, Wan Fau Sin Koon in Yuen Long and Ka Tin Court in Tai Wai to further extend the coverage of the project.

Regional Commander of NTS Mak Chin-ho thanked the organisations for their support on the project, which clearly demonstrated the Hong Kong society’s collective care for the disadvantaged. He stressed that the collaboration hinged on the concerted efforts of the Force, the community and the enterprises, and it was a crucial step to build a more secure and caring community.

Not only does Project L-Homecoming 2.0 arouse the community’s attention to the people at high risk of going missing, but it also fosters the collaboration between different sectors of the society. Officers of NTS aspire to jointly protect the disadvantaged and create a more caring and inclusive community through the continued efforts of all sectors.
