To explore the channels for exchange and cooperation with the law enforcement departments of the countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, Deputy Director (2) of the Police College (the College) Choi Tung-tsoi led a 7-member delegation to visit the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan) from September 25 to 28. It was the first time for the Force to visit Kazakhstan for exchange.


The Acting Head of the Almaty Police Academy of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan (the Almaty Police Academy) briefed the delegation on its police training facilities and had a meeting with the delegation. Both sides expressed that the exchange facilitated further cooperation and enhanced mutual understanding of the two police forces. The delegation delivered two lectures to the academy staff and cadets respectively to share the policing development in Hong Kong and training features of the College. The delegation toured the Almaty District Police Community Centre to study its organisation structures and working situations.


The delegation was also arranged to attend the International Conference on Countering Extremism and Terrorism organised by Almaty Police Academy, where the delegation shared counter-terrorism experience with participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Germany, the Netherlands etc.
