Director of the Financial Intelligence Office of Macao Ms Chu Un-i led a five-member delegation to visit the Financial Intelligence and Investigation Bureau (FIIB) on August 12 for a seminar on cross-border anti-money laundering (AML) co-operation and intelligence exchange.
FIIB officers outlined Hong Kong’s legal framework for AML and counter-financing terrorism, and its policies on recovery of crime proceeds, as well as sharing experience on financial investigation. Macao officers introduced the organisational restructure of their office and Macao’s legal framework for AML. The meeting strengthened the connection of officers from both parties and promoted AML intelligence exchange and co-operation between the two places.
