To enhance the law-abiding awareness of teenagers and their understanding of the harmful effects of illegal betting, the Force has launched a series of publicity activities under the theme “Stay Away From Illegal Betting” throughout the European Football Championship Cup (EURO) period.

Chief Inspector Wong Yu-fai and Senior Inspector Wong Chun-hong of the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB), Clinical Psychologist Woo Chin-pang and two rehabilitated gamblers were interviewed by various media on June 5. The two rehabilitated gamblers shared their painful experiences brought by participating in illegal gambling to caution teenagers against illegal gambling.

The Force has also produced a promotional video against illegal betting, which is being broadcast on different media. Throughout the period of EURO, OCTB continues to conduct the operations against illegal betting, namely CROWBEAK and WINDSHIELD, to combat crimes of bookmaking activities and illegal betting.
