Marine (MAR) hosted the annual liaison meeting of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies for 2024 at the Police Officers’ Club on March 13. Director of Operations (D OPS) Chan Tung and Regional Commander of MAR Ng Cheuk-hang presided over the event. 180 delegates attended the meeting to exchange views and share their experience in maritime law enforcement. They agreed that this type of meeting could effectively enhance future liaison and collaboration among the law enforcement agencies of the three places.


On behalf of the Hong Kong Police Force, D OPS thanked the tripartite law enforcement agencies for their continuous efforts in combating illegal immigration, smuggling and maritime illicit activities. He perceived that the maritime law enforcement agencies would strengthen collaboration to keep making efforts for maintaining national security and domestic peace, as well as contributing to the prosperity and stability of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.


Participating agencies and departments included the Police Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, the Exit and Entry Administration, the Office for Combating Smuggling of the Guangdong and Zhuhai Public Security Department, the Maritime Safety Administration of Guangdong and Zhuhai, the Shenzhen and Zhuhai Municipal Marine Comprehensive Law Enforcement Sub-brigade, the Unitary Police Service and the Customs Service of Macao, as well as the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, Customs and Excise Department, Fire Services Department, Government Flying Service, Immigration Department and Marine Department of Hong Kong.
