The Service Quality Wing organised the Mid-Cycle Review Conference on Strategic Directions 2022-2024 at the Senior Officers’ Mess on March 14. The conference is part of the Force Strategic Planning Process (SPP). In his opening speech, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee stated that the purpose of the conference was to review the Force’s efforts in implementing the key initiatives under Strategic Directions 2022-24 (SD) and to explore room for further collaboration amongst major Formations in the future.

The conference adopted a new format in which the four Programme Directors facilitated four sessions of discussion under their respective SD with Commissioner Rank Officers (CROs). During the discussion sessions, a wide range of strategic issues related to national security, technology advancement, public relations, resources and finance were deliberated. CROs’ active discussion provided broad perspectives on issues about the Force’s future development. At the conclusion of the half day conference, Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chan Joon-sun delivered closing remarks in which he thanked the attendees for their perceptive insights on ways to deliver greater benefits to the Force in the remaining SPP cycle of SD 2022-2024.

In accordance with the results of this conference, the Commissioner and CROs will explore and formulate Strategic Directions 2025-27 in the Strategic Planning Conference to be held in the second half of 2024.
