Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB), Government Computer Emergency Response Team Hong Kong and Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre co-organised the Cyber Security Professional Awards (CSPA) 2023 presentation ceremony on February 29 to recognise 52 cyber security professionals and organisations from various sectors.
The participating sectors of the CSPA have expanded from five in the previous event to eight sectors, including banking and finance, cyber security audit and consulting, cyber security education and training, cyber security startups and small and medium enterprises, government departments and public bodies, internet and cloud services, telecommunication services, as well as transportation and public utilities, signifying the increasing importance of cyber security across various sectors.
Commissioner Siu Chak-yee emphasised in his speech that the increase in cyber security incidents and technology crimes highlighted the importance in maintaining cyber security. He pointed out that the CSPA not only recognised cyber security professionals, but also provided an interactive platform for exchanging and sharing experience among professionals in the sector.
Furthermore, the Force announced the establishment of the Cyber Security Action Task Force (CSATF) during the ceremony, marking a new chapter in public-private collaboration between the Force and cyber security sector. Led by the Force, CSATF would bring together the expertise of renowned local and overseas cyber security companies to facilitate the exchange of cyber intelligence and the sharing of professional knowledge, thereby further enhancing Hong Kong’s capacity to cope with cyber threats.
