Automatic Speech Recognition System (ASR System)
The Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) installed six sets of independently operating ASR System in five land Regions and Police Headquarters in January. Officers simply need to upload files containing voice or voice messages obtained through digital forensic examinations to the ASR System, which will then convert the relevant voice into text promptly, saving the officers’ transcription time. The ASR System currently supports Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. Officers can refer to the ASR System Introduction on P-TV for basic operation instructions.
X-Swift – digital evidence extraction tool
CSTCB fully launched Project X-Swift in December 2023. After completing the E-Course in the Central Educational Repository, officers can use the digital evidence extraction tool – X-Swift toolkit – to retrieve digital evidence from seized storage devices, thereby eliminating the need to send the devices to CSTCB for analysis. The process generally takes only a few hours and the acquired digital evidence can then be used for investigation or prosecution purposes. X-Swift has been distributed to Districts for use by frontline officers.
