The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service held Hong Kong Volunteer Award 2023 Presentation Ceremony on January 3, 2024. Sergeants Lee Ho-kay and Kwok Chau-fung, a couple in the Force, were awarded the Heroic Volunteer Award for rescuing a lost 7-year-old boy with autism on April 29, 2023 while off-duty on a highway in Tuen Mun. The family of the boy later sent a letter to express their gratitude, and the incident received wide media coverage and praise.
