The Professional Certificate Programme in Computer Forensics Investigation offered by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) since 2005 successfully underwent the Hong Kong Police College’s internal programme accreditation in November, becoming the first programme offered by CSTCB that has attained Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 5, which is the same level as a Bachelor’s degree. The accreditation affirms the professional qualification of officers trained in this course and enhances their credibility when serving as expert witnesses in court. The first QF Level 5-accredited programme commenced in December.
The Programme Accreditation Panel consisting of four professionals from the fields of higher education, vocational/professional validation and computer forensics conducted a site visit to CSTCB on October 3. After scrutinising the materials submitted by CSTCB, examining training facilities and interviewing personnel, the Panel had positive evaluations of the course, training facilities, and staff.
