The Animal Watchers Programme (AWP) has put forth the publicity campaign under the theme of “Synergy for Great” since the inauguration ceremony for the 2nd Central Advisory Board (CAB) in March this year. On September 28, CAB Chairperson cum Assistant Commissioner (Information Systems) Kwan Chui-ching chaired the second meeting of the current AWP CAB.
At the meeting, the Secretariat reported the campaign and community events held in the second and third quarters for promoting messages about animal care to various social strata. The total number of participants reached 25 000. With support from the campaign, 20 schools had established their Animal Care Corner on campus. Besides, it was announced that the "Hang-in-there Charity Challenge" would be held in October to raise money for animal organisations. All CAB members fully supported and recognised the achievement of AWP. After the meeting, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee had a luncheon with CAB members to express his gratitude for their support to AWP all along.
