SMPDIST & KTDSIT


The Kwun Tong Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Youth Music and Cultural Night show was jointly organised by Sau Mau Ping District (SMPDIST), Kwun Tong District (KTDIST), Kwun Tong District Office, District Fight Crime Committee (Kwun Tong District) and Kowloon Federation of Associations at Kwun Tong Promenade on September 30.


The show featured singing and dancing performances by students from the Districts, display of the giant lantern of the Force’s anti-scam mascot, The Little Grape, lantern corridor and lantern riddles themed on anti-deception messages. In addition, the Force joined the drone show for the first time by arranging 800 drones to fly over the sky of Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, displaying the figures and patterns of The Little Grape, Guarding Our City, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day to give the watchers visual delights.


TPDIST


Tai Po District (TPDIST) organised “Anti-deception Mid-Autumn Festival Fun” on September 18, attracting 150 members of TPDIST Senior Police Call (SPC). District Commander of TPDIST Ma Wai-hing, Chairman of TPDIST SPC Honorary President Council Mr Chan Chun-ching and SPC Honorary Presidents attended the event as well.


The activities included guessing lantern riddles and performances of Chinese drum, singing and dancing. Officers from Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territory North came to deliver anti-deception messages to the participants, analyse crime statistics and explain the modus operandi of common scams, hoping to prevent the elderly from deception. Mooncakes and gift bags were also distributed to senior citizens for celebrating the festival.


STDIST


Shatin District (STDIST) Junior Police Call set up a Mid-Autumn lantern display themed “Love Our Motherland” at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza. The switch-on ceremony and carnival was held on September 15. In his speech, District Commander of STDIST Leung Tsz-kin said that the Force would provide more opportunities for the youth to understand our country’s development, thereby enhancing the recognition of their national identity. District Officer (Sha Tin) Mr Frederick Yu and community leaders also attended the ceremony.


Two giant lanterns six meters in height, namely the Force’s anti-scam mascot The Little Grape and STDIST mascot Shatin Pal, which met the public for the first time, were displayed. Shatin Pal will take on the important task of disseminating crime prevention and anti-crime messages in various activities in STDIST.


BORDIST


District Commander of Border District (BORDIST) Lau King-lun, Divisional Commander (DVC) of Lok Ma Chau Division Cheung Kin-pan, DVC of Ta Kwu Ling Division Li Hon-man and DVC of Sha Tau Kok Division Ng Wing-see, together with Chairman of BORDIST Senior Police Call Honorary President Council Mr Cheung Fo-tai, Presidents Mr Yeung Man-chung, Mr Fong Chung-kwok, Mr Tsang Yune-choi, Mr Cheung Yuk-kei, Mr Leung Yip-wing and officers of BORDIST, distributed mooncakes and gift packs to the elderly and residents affected by the typhoon and heavy rain in the Divisions.


The group also joined Vice-chairman of Sha Tau Kok District Rural Committee Mr Tsang Yuk-on and members of the Executive Committee in giving out mooncakes and gift packs to the elderly living alone in Sha Tau Kok Town and the elderly centre.


HKPC


The Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) and the New Home Association jointly organised “Community Partnership in Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival: Lighting Lanterns for a Caring Society” on August 26. Over 140 probationary inspectors (PIs) and recruit police constables (RPCs) made lanterns and Chinese traditional paper crafting together with about 80 non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) children and their parents. PIs and RPCs also brought along blessing bags and mooncakes to visit NEC families, aiming to introduce Chinese culture to the NEC.
