To tie in with the government’s initiative to promote youth development as stated in the Policy Address, the Junior Police Call (JPC) Summer Internship Programme was launched for the first time to provide JPC members with internship opportunities within the Force and working partners for them to understand the operation of the Force and experience the working life, enhance their leadership and communication skills, and get prepared for their life planning and career development at an early stage.


Apart from the Public Relations Wing, JPC of various Districts also organised different internship schemes, such as Project TEENS of Western District and Central District, Youth Chasing Dreams of Border District. The JPC of Mong Kok District and that of Tuen Mun District also provided summer internships for their members. The programme covered a wide range of jobs and industries. Besides working in the Police Community Relations Offices of various Districts as JPC activity assistants, participating JPC members of the programme were also arranged to undergo internships in organisations of different industries, such as the media, large enterprises, airport security company, theme parks, law firm and hotels. Participating JPC members said that the working experience gained enabled them to know more about the work of the Force and various trades, as well as broadening their horizons.
