For officers to understand more about the development of our country, the Hong Kong Police Inspectors’ Association (HKPIA) arranged 23 inspectorate members to join the national study programme held in Zhejiang between July 15 and 21 after the selection process. With reference to Hong Kong’s current situation, the programme covered topics of education on national situation, public governance and public security duties in the Mainland through topical lectures, site visits and seminars. The spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the principle of “one country, two systems” were elaborated. Security duties in the Mainland was also introduced. Themed study tours were organised on e-governance, policing services for public convenience and internet security.
Under the arrangements of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Zhejiang Police College, the delegation visited the Huzhou Public Security Bureau and Anji police station to communicate with frontline officers on community policing and the application of technology for policing. The members also visited several technology innovation enterprises and national musuems in Hangzhou to learn about the history, culture and technological development of our country.
