Fifty police children aged between 10 and 15 joined a training camp jointly organised by Welfare Services Group, Police Arts Council and Guangdong Police cadet school between August 16 and 22. The police children lived and received training together with the Mainland trainees on the Nanhai campus in Foshan. In addition to attending the lectures delivered and demonstrated by the police from all over Guangdong to understand policing work, the police children visited police dog bases, anti-drug bases and various museums.
The camp has helped the children improve their national consciousness, understand more about policing work and culture in the Mainland, and establish friendship with Mainland trainees. Five officers from Personnel Services and Staff Relations Branch provided all-round support and counselling to the police children throughout the training camp. Chief Superintendent Lee Chung-wah officiated at the graduation ceremony and presented the certificates.
