101 Student Ambassadors of the Animal Watchers Programme (AWP) from 12 schools with Animal Care Corner established gathered at the Police College on August 19 to take part in the AWP Adventure King Summer Camp, the purpose of which was to deepen the Student Ambassadors’ understanding of animals and raise their awareness of caring for animals and respecting lives.
There were 15 challenging checkpoints that tested the participants’ understanding of animal characteristics. After completing each checkpoint, the Students Ambassadors would be rewarded with coins for procuring equipment to save animals. 12 Student Ambassadors were awarded that day and all of them enjoyed close contact with police dogs and had acquired team spirit.
The Student Ambassadors will attend the Life-wide Animal Care College course in September to continue strengthening their professional knowledge about taking care of animals, which will build up their confidence in caring for the animals in their schools’ Animal Care Corner.
