Assistant Commissioner of Singapore Volunteer Special Constabulary Mr Shng Yunn Chinn led a ten-member delegation to visit the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) between July 18 and 19. Commandant of HKAPF Yang Joe-tsi and other senior members of HKAPF received the delegation and the Auxiliary Support Bureau arranged a series of fruitful exchange and visits for the delegation to gain a deeper insight of HKAPF’s functions and operations.
The delegation was arranged to visit Yau Ma Tei Police Station for a better understanding of the frontline duties of auxiliary members. Auxiliary officers of the Traffic Team Cadre (Auxiliary) of Hong Kong Island (HKI) and the newly established Technology Crime and Support Cadre gave presentations on their roles and responsibilities. Moreover, upon invitation of HKI, the delegates attended as observers at a joint-departmental counter terrorism exercise held at Hong Kong City Hall. Lastly, the Airport Security Unit showcased its equipment and gave a demonstration of its training. The visit greatly strengthened the tie between the police forces of the two places and promoted the professionalism and excellence of Hong Kong Police Force and HKAPF.
