The Netherlands & INTERPOL
Senior Superintendent Mao Lee-sha led a ten-member delegation to visit the Netherlands Police and the INTERPOL General Secretariat in Lyon, France in April. During the visit to the Netherlands, the delegation visited the Utrecht-West Police Station and the Police Academy of the Netherlands. The Netherlands Police shared with the delegation their experience in various policing domains. In return, the delegation introduced Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF)’s overview, challenges and development. During the visit to the INTERPOL General Secretariat, the delegation was arranged to visit its command control centre for understanding the major roles played by the INTERPOL in international cooperation amongst police counterparts, the latest trend in transnational crimes and the strategies of combating cybercrime and financial crime.
Switzerland
Chief Superintendent Ng Lok-chun led a 12-member delegation to visit the Federal Office of Police of Switzerland (Fedpol) in May. The delegation visited the Fedpol Headquarters in Bern. Both sides introduced their respective organisational structure and various major policing duties, as well as sharing experience and exploring future cooperation opportunities. The delegation was also arranged to visit the Cantonal Police Zurich and Zurich Forensic Science Institute. Moreover, the delegation visited the local Police Academy to understand the training programmes and facilities provided for the recruits. The delegation shared with the local police the strategies adopted by the HKPF to address recruitment challenges.
