The Police Dragon Boat Club achieved the first runners-up in both the Disciplinary Forces’ Cup and the Mixed Gold Cup at the Stanley Dragon Boat Warm Up Races 2023 held on June 3. The Club also won the championship against other government departments from Hong Kong and Macao at the Tsuen Wan Dragon Boat Race 2023 on June 11.
Moreover, the Club resumed joining races in the Mainland upon the easing of anti-epidemic measures. Assistant Commissioner (National Security) (2) Wong Chung-chun led 28 officers to participate in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament held at Dongguan on June 10. Having raced against 18 dragon boat teams from 11 cities in the Greater Bay Area, the Club won the Merits Award. The total amount of the prize money was subsequently donated to the Dongguan City Charity Association to promote charity through dragon boat activities.
