The Force and the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association (HKGGA) jointly organised the Anti-Scam & Fight Crime Ambassador Programme for the first time, with the first train-the-trainer workshop held at the Police Headquarters on June 7. Officers from Fraud Division of Commercial Crime Bureau, the Narcotics Bureau and Pat Heung Youth Development Section of the Public Relations Wing served as the trainers. A total of 73 Girl Guides leaders completed the workshop and were awarded the trainer certificates. They would be responsible for training Anti-Scam & Fight Crime Ambassadors.
Under the Programme, the Force provides the training content and instructors whilst Girl Guides leaders are responsible for conducting training and assessments within HKGGA to help Girl Guides become the Ambassadors, who will remind their friends and relatives not to become victims. The programme covers several types of crimes of social concern, including deception, dangerous drugs and traps involving earning easy money. In addition to introducing crime trends and modus operandi, real cases, tips on anti-scam and crime eradication, information literacy and civic responsibility will also be explained. A Girl Guide who has completed the programme will be awarded a certificate and a training badge featuring the Force’s anti-scam mascot “The Little Grape”.
