Senior Police Call (SPC) launched the kick-off ceremony of “SPC Share the Love 2023” at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on May 13 to express care and love to the elderly and the people in need. Officiating at the ceremony, Commission Siu Chak-yee expressed gratitude to the community for their support. With the epidemic subsiding and the society returning to normal, the event has resumed to full scale as those before the epidemic, with full participation of all walks of life in the community to give full play to the SPC spirit of “helping oneself and others”.
During the ceremony, a short video was played to show episodes of SPC Central Advisory Board (CAB) members and SPC members of different Districts packing the blessing bags and making wish cards. Furthermore, students from one of the Eastern District Junior Police Call School Clubs, Shanghai Alumni Primary School Drum Troupe, were invited to perform Chinese drum music with Mongkok District SPC members. Artiste Mr Anderson Junior and SPC members performed an anti-deception drama to promote anti-deception messages. Other officiating guests of the ceremony included Director of Operations (D OPS) Chan Joon-sun, Chairperson of SPC CAB cum Regional Commander of Hong Kong Island Kwok Ka-chuen, Vice Chairperson of SPC CAB cum Chief Superintendent of Public Relations Wing Tsang Shuk-yin, as well as representatives of the SPC CAB members Dr Albert Wong, Dr Chu Chun-ho, Mr Ng Sau-kei and Dr Lam Wai-wing.
After the ceremony, the Commissioner and D OPS paid visits to Yan Chai Hospital Tang Bik Wan Memorial Neighbourhood Elderly Centre in Shek Kip Mei and Sik Sik Yuen Ho Yee Neighbourhood Centre for Senior Citizens in Wong Tai Sin respectively and distributed the blessing bags to the elderly. Furthermore, “SPC Fight Crime Vigour” publicity trucks were launched to tour across the territory for disseminating the messages of crime prevention. Between May 13 and 19, SPC members from all 22 Districts distributed blessing bags to the people in need in the community to disseminate love and care and promote the Force’s motto of “Serving Hong Kong”.
