To support social charity and raise funding for the youth service organisations, the elite athletes of the Force participated in the Community Chest Sports for Millions organised by the Community Chest at the Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club on March 18. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, together with other Heads of Departments, officiated at the kick-off ceremony. The Commissioner also cheered for the Force athletes.
More than 30 business organisations and eight disciplinary forces joined the event and raised over $2 million. The competitions comprised swimming, badminton, table tennis, football and group games. Every athlete did their best to get good results. With their outstanding performances, Force athletes eventually won the gold and silver medals in men’s singles badminton, silver medal in women’s singles badminton, gold and silver medals in women’s singles table tennis and bronze medals in both swimming relay and football.
