The Annual Knowledge Management (KM) Conversation cum KM Champions Appointment Ceremony 2023 was held on March 22 at the Police Officers’ Club. Director of Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) cum Force Knowledge Officer Wong Chung-chun presided over the event and presented certificates of appointment to the Force KM Champions for the new tenure. He also thanked the outgoing KM Champions, Regional KM Coordinators and KM Ambassadors for their active promotion of KM and facilitation of knowledge exchange during the pandemic.
The nine KM Champions, five Regional KM Coordinators and their representatives presented their endeavours over the past two years and their initiatives for the year ahead. Superintendent of HKPC Research Centre Ho Yiu-cheung briefed the participants on the plan to re-organise and optimise KM’s search page, search engine and infrastructure for enhancing the Force’s overall performance and providing better services to the public in the future.
Two Honorary College Advisors who are also KM experts, namely Professor Tsui Yue-hong from the Behaviour and Knowledge Engineering Research Centre of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Principal of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (Kowloon Bay Campus) Dr Cheng Tak-ming, attended the ceremony and led the participants to explore the challenges and opportunities of the Force in optimising KM in the digital era so that the Force’s KM “Innovation Ship” would keep sailing ahead robustly.
